I found that the reverse motion of the entire film makes the audience think about what is actually going on in each instance. It’s a bit trickier to understand what someone or something is doing when it’s going backwards, for example the NASA Rocket. I also found the time lapse of the building lights to be fascinating. Even in reverse, seeing all of the lights switch on and off was surprising and made me aware of all of the electricity being used daily. It was also interesting to see that some things, even though they were moving in reverse, looked the same as forward such as the subway. The sped up movements of traffic in busy cities is also interesting to see because you get to see a blur of color lines which are made up by the tail lights, street lights, and other lamp posts. It also makes you realize how much repetition occurs on a daily basis and although there are many different people and cars everywhere, the routine is still the same. Relating to the city traffic, seeing the traffic from an aerial perspective also shows how while there is chaos on the streets, from above, everything is orderly. The reflections of the clouds on buildings are also satisfying.
