Reflection

I just want to say that while I’m bummed we didn’t get to have this class in person, I really enjoyed this semester. As an architect major I feel that Art 004 has given me strong foundations leading into more specific classes. Some of the lessons I learned through the class include learning the impact of photography on a project, the connection between art and nature, along with the importance of texture. I loved how each project seemed to build on each other, and I especially enjoyed the wax paper texture project. To crumble up a piece of wax paper then edit it on photoshop really gave me a certain perspective on how many many buildings are designed. I never would have thought the final product would look so intriguing. Additionally, I was really happy with how my final project came out. To look back where I started with the sticks and cardboard progression, I noticed I improved greatly. To see the patterns I was able to create by letting the form guide the stick was very satisfying. Overall I am very happy with the course and feel like I have grown a lot. I look forward to seeing how this knowledge will carry over to future classes and projects!
